Ford Jubilee end loader Hydraulics

I have an end loader with the hydraulics tied into the 3 point hydraulics. I am told I can only use the end loader when I have the 3 point arms chained down. My question is, the loader only works if the lift control is positioned to raised lift the 3 point. Is this correct?

The service manual says when checking the pump pressures not to hold the control lever in the lift position for more than 10 seconds with the arms chained down as it might damage the pump. So am I doing something wrong or do I operate the end loader with the control lever in the lift position?

That only applies if there is no other path for the fluid to travel. It sounds like you are running the loader valve off of the test port on the top cover. If that is the case, and the loader control valve is an open center valve and there is a return line going back to the sump, then there is always a path for the fluid to travel and running the loader by chaining the arms down and moving the control handle to the lift position will not harm the pump so long as the loader control valve has a working pressure relief valve.

Thanks Sean .. That answers my question
