Electronic ignition

Has anyone had any experience with replacing the standard points ignition with an electronic one? Specifically the Ignitor.

It gets a good product review on this online store but I would like to know if anyone has used this and about their experiences.

I have a Ford 601 converted to 12V.

Thanks

I just put one in my Jubilee yesterday. Ran one in my 1977 MGB for a long time with no problems at all. In your tractor, you must modify the dust cover to keep it from rubbing on the plastic reluctor that goes on the distributor shaft. I used my Dremmel tool to modify mine. I have full confidence in them.

The distributor cap indexes off of the dust cap. The dust cap has to be in place. It will also mess with the rotor without the dust cap because the height of the distributor cap will be wrong.

I put pertronix in a 3 cylinder 2000 about 12 years ago. I sold that tractor a few years later. The guy who bought it still calls me now and then and I always ask about the ei.
Between us it has been 12 years now and the dist cap has never been off.
I recommend it.
On a 3 cylinder you must remove the dust cover and not use it for the ei to fit.
