1969 Ford 3400 color scheme

When I look at pictures on Google images I
see 3400 tractors in all blue with white
stripe, blue engine with yellow cowl, and
all yellow inside and out. Did this series
come in different colors?

My 3400 is all yellow, but I have always
suspected it was painted by someone at
some point

Depends on the year model, early industrials had blue chassis with yellow tin, wheels and fenders.
Later they went to all yellow, my 69 model 4500 is blue and yellow, my brothers 70's model 3400 is all yellow.
Not sure what year they changed to all yellow but I think it was in 70.

Also depends on who the original purchaser was, If it was a state, county, municipality or a large corporation doing a fleet purchase they could ask for whatever color(s) they wanted and Ford would paint them that way at the factory. I have a 1973 4000 ag chassis that was purchased as a state highway mower and it is all yellow with dark blue (not Ford blue, closer to navy) wheels and a matching dark blue stripe on the sides of the hood where the decals would have been on a normal 4000, with no decals originally as far as I can tell. I am the 4th owner. Original owner was the state, then one other person for about 4 or 5 years then the person that I bought it from for about 10 years or so. From how dull the paint is and what shows up in the spots that are chipped, I believe that it is the original paint job with some touch-ups here and there.

My '68 was blue chassis and yellow wheels and tin. I was going to shoot it all blue with the white stripe like an ag 3000. After the chassis was shot I couldn't believe how much blue there was..... I compromised with yellow tin and the two tone stripe. All yellow is too much for me.
