I purchased a 1974 Ford 2000 tractor some time back. When I got it the lift was not working properly. The lift would go fully up or down, nothing in between. I took it to
a dealer to correct the problem. They worked on it and got it better but not like it should be. Like if you move the control about 1/4 to 1/3 up or down the lift will not
move. Then if you move it a little further the lift will move up or down to where the control is. Then you move it again in that same direction it will not move intil you
get another 1/4 to 1/3 of the way. Anyone know what would cause this? It has bugged me for a long time and no dealer can fix it. These systems cannot be that hard to
repair. They put many new parts in the lift but still does not follow the control like it should. They told me that they could not understand why it would not work but it
is better than it was. I use this tractor mainly to mow and keeping the mower at a constant level is a battle. It is always moving.
