Intake manifold on new 860

Looking for help identifying something on the 860 that I just picked up. It is connected to the intake manifold just above the carburetor and looks to be some sort of valve.

I have an 8N and NAA, but I'm not familiar with everything on the 800 series, and I'm trying to figure it out.

Thanks!

Jeff

Hard to say without seeing it, but... Many manifolds on tractors of that era had a tapped hole with a pipe plug in that area. Back
before standby generators were common, a hose could be run from the manifold to the vacuum line in a dairy barn, allowing the
farmer to get the milking done. What you have is probably a valve in that hole for that purpose.

Probably a vacuum tap to run milkers. Used to see them on tractors from small farms around here.
