Can somebody explain the different transmissions on 6610?

I'm going to go look at a 6610 that's about an hour away. I dont' have many pictures to go by, but I can tell it's not the old 8x2 transmission that I'm used to. I've never been on an old ford with a different transmission. I'm reading on tractordata about synchromesh, and synchromesh with dual power. Can somebody explain the differences in these and what I should be checking on this tractor?

It's definitely a syncro tranny. That said, the older ones were problematic with regards to the internal linkage and shift forks, so I'd be leery if it has not been updated. The older ones also had a very unusual shift pattern that made most people scratch their heads, so Ford came out with a conversion kit to convert them over to a "H" pattern shift.

The dual power is the same as it is on the 8x2 crashbox - it's simply a powershifted high-low, just like all the other Fords that have it.
