961 fuel line.

Just curious. When you guys use 1/4" brake line for the fuel line, do you go around front of motor and around to bowl or go down by exhaust header like the original line? I'm thinking I might go the brake line route with a short piece of 1/4" fuel line to take the vibration somewhere under the tank. I'm just having a hard time justifying $75 for a 15" fuel line replacement. And that's an aftermarket one with shipping! The OEM one is up to $150 at my local New Holland dealer.

I go around the front through the middle of the gas tank support. I also wouldn't bother putting any
hose in the line for vibration. I have a 63 4000 that was my Dad's tractor and it has been that way
for probably 40 years and it has never been a problem. I have also changed a few of my other tractors
of the same vintage and they never have had any cracking problems and no hose to dry out from the heat
and start to leak on a hot motor. My 2 cents worth GregNE

The original line has a four inch long rubber section, so the one that I made out of brake and fuel line does as well. I ran it down through the manifold like original too. Lots of guys insist that it will "vapor lock" going through the manifold, but I have never had any luck with getting vapor to flow UNDER liquid.

I was unaware that the OEM style fuel line was available aftermarket. Where did you find it?

I have never bought one but I believe that I saw it a few months ago on Messick's CNH site.

They're all over Amazon and eBay. I've become quite the fan of Amazon with the free shipping on most items.

If anyone has used one, it would be interesting to learn about quality, fit, durability, etc.

I would be particularly suspect of the material used for the flexible portion.
