SOS to 5-speed swap, which engine plate?

59 871 good engine and power steering, bad SOS
57 850 with a blown engine

I'm going to take the engine/front end off the 871 with SOS
and mate it to the 5-speed trans and rear of a 57 850.

Which engine plate?
(the 850 plate is thicker)

I think gas/diesel are the same.
The difference is between the 00 and 01 series.
01 uses thicker block plate.
Markct has the best answer. Keep plate and trans together as a pair.

Thanks guys.
It went fine. Drove it around today.
I used the plate that was with the 5-speed.
Starting with 2 complete tractors, it took more time shuffling the
carcasses in and out of one bay than doing the actual work.

Tip....the hydraulic manifolds (both piston pumps) are different between a 57 and a 59. A quick online check showed a post by John Smith verifying.
Most online parts sellers say the 2 part numbers are interchangeable.....they aren't.
(I had an old vane pump and manifold in the shop that I threw on for now...works fine until I can find the NCA933J manifold I need to put the piston pump back on.)
