No elect power

Parked tractor Ford 4610SU running good, next day went to start and there is no elect. power. Tested battery had 12.7 volts cleaned post and clamps, no power, had 12.7 volts at starter, both shift leavers in neutral, removed starter and took to elect shop it tested good, reinstalled starter, what am I missing to get power back on?

Sounds like an open in the neutral safety switch to me. Those 3-cylinder transmissions are very finicky about the neutral position. Hold the key switch to the start position and jiggle the shorter shift lever with your other hand. Sometimes that's all you need.

your 'no electrical power' statement is a bit vauge.

does the dash loose power?

does the battery fade to 0v when trying to crank?

or does the starter just not turn?

Couple of easy no tools needed trouble shooting trick are.
#1 make 1000% sure it is out of gear. Then take a heavy jumper wire across the 2 big terminals on the solenoid and see if the starter will spin up. If it does then try a jumper form the small start terminal on the solenoid and see if it will spin up. If it does that both ways then your problem is in a safety switch or a bad wire from the ignition or safety switch.

I use that trick all the time when I get a call from some one with a problem like your having. Have gotten many an odd look when I drove there tractor back in form the field because I could get it to start but they could not

no.. the dash warning lights will still come on.. only it will not allow the starter to engage/crank/make the loud noise, if the neutral safety switch is not working.

Problem solved, there is a 6 prong plug in the battery compartment, one prong had corroded and was not allowing power to get from starter switch to starter, would never have seen the problem unless you unplugged the plug. My son came to visit and he was the one that found and fixed the problem.

Be sure to coat all of the individual connectors inside that plug with dielectric grease, as well as any other pluggable wire harness connections, to prevent future corrosion.
