Ford 4630 engine oil capacity (oil cooler vs no oil cooler)

My original Ford 4630 manual says engine oil capacity is 7 quarts with filter change but my dipstick shows the oil to be at the bottom of the hatched area with 7 quarts. This leads me to believe it holds closer to 8 quarts. The twist is my tractor has a factory oil cooler while my manual says nothing about tractors with the oil cooler hold more oil. Also, the factory manual shows a close up photo of the oil filter area on a tractor and it does not have an oil cooler so I assume the oil cooler was an option. It makes sense to me that a tractor with an oil cooler has to hold more oil. I just want to put in the right amount and I don't know what that is. This tractor is new to me so I have no previous experience with it. I called my dealer and he read through some service bulletin's related to both the dipstick and the oil cooler but neither mentioned a tractor with a cooler held more oil or not. Can you guys help me or off suggestions? Thanks.

A quick check of the parts book shows that oil coolers were used on engines with headland pistons. Since the dipsticks are the same on all
models, it stands to reason that an engine with an oil cooler will hold more oil. Fill it to the full mark on the dipstick and don't look
back.

I tend to agree that I should fill it to the fill mark and never look back. Only thing is I"m not 100% sure the dipstick is correct. I assume it is but don't know. What I do know for sure is this tractor is completely original in terms of the oil cooler, etc. It is a 201 3 cylinder, not a turbo model. It is a 91 year model. Thanks for your comments.

I would not think twice about putting 8 qts in it. That is about the correct amount. I usually put just shy of 8L in most of mine which is 7.5 qt or so.

If that oil cooler holds 3 ounces of oil, it is a lot. Non-issue. The entire oil cooler fits between the filter and base. It and the lines going to it hold more coolant than oil.
