Side plate gasket on power steering unit blown again. New power steering pump, , new bolts, threadlocker, etc. every bolt on plate and all bolts holding unit to transmission loosened up. What the heck. Also-how do you take off the drawbar?

The 4 steering box mounting bolts coming loose is an easy answer: There are two dowels between the box and the transmission case that are likely beat out (see link below). Without these dowels in good shape, the bolts alone won't keep it tight. Now the holes in the box and the case are likely egged out - new dowels alone won't do. To fix it right, you'll need to re-drill the holes and put in some oversize dowels.

The fact that everything keeps coming loose tells me that you must be really pushing the limits of the capabilities of this particular PS system, which by the way, in my opinion, should never have been installed on FWD tractors. Add a loader to that mix and you've got real trouble down the road, which is what you are experiencing.

As for the bolts on the box coming loose, are you sure you're using the correct grade and lengths of bolts? I've never had an issue with them coming loose, and I've worked on my share of them. And, I've never had to Loctite them either. Is the cover plate flat?

I don't recall whether you have FWD and/or a loader, but if you do, consider this machine's steering system as a definite weak link of the entire tractor.

Drawbar is removed by going underneath with a flat screwdriver and prying out the clip on the top of the support bracket. You'll likely need to use that screwdriver to first dig out all the mud packed around it so you can see the thing.
Dowel pin is 4
