850 on-road fuel economy

I currently truck a small sprayer back and forth between 2 vineyard sites about 13 miles apart over hilly gravel roads throughout the summer. Wondering what my added fuel cost might be if were to transport the sprayer on my 850 instead. The truck is an f-250 that gets maybe 12 mpg, and I will continue to use it as long as it is road worthy. If the truck dies or becomes undrivable for any reason I would use my tractor unless advised otherwise. Tractor has loaded rears and the sprayer weighs about 300lbs empty (as it would be transported). Tractor tires are old and checked but with good tread. Tire replacement would likely be more expensive than any repair I am likely to undertake on the truck, so I guess wear and tear is a consideration as well as fuel economy. Average speed by truck is probably 30-35 mph. Thoughts on fuel and/or maintenance costs associated with hauling the sprayer by tractor instead of truck? The added travel time would likely be offset by loading/unloading and hitching the sprayer (the other vineyard site also has a tractor that is currently used for spraying).

I would avoid moving that far with tractor and use truck, tractor will probably burn 2-3 gallons of gas on that trip and take an hour.

2-3 gallons one way? That's definitely enough difference to reconsider, even without taking the wear and tear into account...

I agree on it taking an hour, one way, but that is a
light load. I would expect it to be under 2 gallons
each way... Probably closer to 1 1/2.
