Ford 800 stuck engine

I bought a ford 800 a few months ago and just recently the engine seized up. I pulled the starter because it started to smoke(i did not hold it down for an extended amount of time, it just locked up and started to smoke), so i pulled it and every thing looked good besides being filthy. I was going to just buy I new one but I decided to check the engine just in case and my engine was stuck. Pulled the head soaked the cylinders for two days and still no movement. so I continued to break it down. When I dropped the pan there were metal shaving in it, took the oil pump out and the end that goes to the block was pinched closed and the seal broke. Continued to break it down and took a look at the fly wheel and teeth were broken off.

My question is what the hero could of caused this? I'm stuck I'm going to continue to break it down and purchase ash over haul kit. But I need/have to know what the hell happened. Thank you.

Number one, do not purchase any parts until you have completely torn down engine and evaluated what is needed.

Did you just hold the starter button in without the engine turning until it fried?

I would think there would have been low oil pressure or other indications of the failures.

What could have caused a locked up engine well most likely it did not have enough oil in it or the oil pump was not working like it should have been or it over heated big time. Most of the time sad to say and engine does not lock up because it is the engines fault but instead it is lack of checking things and looking at gauges etc.
As for how to fix it sounds like you need a complete engine rebuild I would take the head and block to a good machine shop and have them do there thing and then once you have it back order the parts you need. At least when your done you should have a brand new engine that will out last you if taken care of

It is obvious that it was not getting oil, but as to how the pump and ring gear got damaged that bad that is very strange. I suppose that the teeth could have been broken trying to start it when seized at an earlier time. The pump was not in the correct position was it? I sounds like there could have been known catastrophic damage that was intentionally covered up.

Thank you all for your input. I think so too because when I bought I changed our all the fluids did a complete flush and everything went to crap. The oil gauge was reading fine then it stalled I tried to start it again and bam. I'm going to attach some pictures for a better assessment. The crap in the bottom was a inch high. The teeth were completely fine an hour before because I installed a new carburetor, fuel switch, distributor, wire harness, alternator, coil, relay, battery cables, ignition switch, and spark plugs. I'm not sure about the clutch disk I just thought it look like crap

I'm trying to get the cam and crank shafts out now but I just can't budge it at all. Thank you again.
