1923 Fordson F

Needing a good and workable 1923 Fordson f carberator. got it running but I do believe the carb on it is the wrong one?? By getting it runnin,I mean I got it started after the overhaul of the engine but only runs with the choke on and not very good!! Need Help!! Thnks

Post this on the Fordson forum to get good responses. I will be interested in the answers also. If you are more interested in getting it to run well (as opposed to having it be original), I believe it was common (a long time ago) to use a downdraft carb from a car or to turn the manifold upside down and use an updraft carb. My Fordson model F has the kerosene arrangement with the kerosene (probably in liquid state) being warmed by the manifold as it travels up to the carb. Picture is not of my Fordson but is similar.
