rear lift capacity on 641

Anybody know what the rear lift capacity is for a 641? I am considering buying a three-point hitch, Cat-1 backhoe to use once
in awhile on my Ford. The backhoe weighs 960 lbs. The seller of the backhoe says the tractor must weigh at least 2500 bs.
and have a three-point hitch that can lift 1000 lbs. My 1961 641 has a front loader on it and I assume it weighs more then
enough. Rear lift capacity I do not know.

Good chance it would lift it. I had a friend years ago who is dead now that had a Kelly backhoe on his Jubilee. and it held it. But a backhoe on a 3 point will be the death of the 3 point sooner or latter. Hanging a backhoe on a 3 point is very very hard on the machine. The best way to go is a true mounted backhoe like what I have on my 8N

With the loader frame, you may be able to match it up to fab up a 4 point mount that would make it a full frame mount. If not real big or heavy, 640 with a suitable mount to make it full frame would be fine. Dearborn made a full frame 4 point backhoe mount, I have some photos somewhere in my tractor folders somewhere. I have a shop built 4 point mount on my 850 that likely had a full size hoe on at one time. It's connected to the wagner loader frame and has a turnbuckle kind of arrangement so you can clamp the hoe in place. I know you would be aware of all this, but worth mentioning. I'd like to hear back if you mount one on as to how you like it for limited work. In careful hands it should work nicely.
The only thing I don't like about any of these is to move the tractor further down the trench its more complicated then a dedicated loader backhoe. You need someone in the tractor seat ready to move it. The other thing is the outriggers on some of these come dangerously close to ones legs, use care with when raising those !

I have a 2600 Ford diesel with a woods 7500 backhoe on it and have never had any problems. Been on the machine since 2000.
