cylinder? Does oil pressure, fuel, temperature light/gauges all work?(quoted from post at 15:21:00 06/22/17) Any ideas of why a generator light on a 3000 would be on when the charging system is working perfectly?
Thanks,
Jim

t is a long shot, but check the 3 amp fuse.(quoted from post at 17:51:58 06/22/17)(quoted from post at 20:26:32 06/22/17)cylinder? Yes, everything else works properly.
he diagram as colored, can be viewed in at least two ways, when ign sw on & cut out contacts of the VR are closed, thus connecting Batt to ARM (dynamo to the Brits), then 1) the warning light has a direct short across it via the wiring & the cutout contacts & Ign sw contacts, so no voltage/current to light the bulb (note that WL and D terminals on VR are common inside VR). 2) All those same wires & contacts function to place the [u:6aeedb917b]same[/u:6aeedb917b] 12 volts on both bulb terminals, thus no voltage difference, no illumination.(quoted from post at 17:51:58 06/22/17)(quoted from post at 20:26:32 06/22/17)cylinder? F it is as he said, he needs a lot more than 'how it is supposed to work'. i.e., an understanding of the circuitry so that maybe he will see where the problem is that allows perfectly functional charging, but light still on.(quoted from post at 10:14:32 06/25/17)
When the key is on, tractor not running, the light has 12 volts from the key, and see's a ground through the generator armature, so it lights up... when running and the armature comes up to voltage, the light has 12 volts on both sides, so it does not light up.
SO..
ow about the fuse that I asked about a day or two back?(quoted from post at 09:49:38 06/26/17) So that would make it seem that if the light is on, the generator isn't charging, right? Except it is charging just fine. I know this is one of those
problems where it's easy to think that the poster has something wrong, as the problem appears to be something that can't happen under the
circumstances described. I'm pretty capable as a mechanic, although I'll readily admit that electrical isn't one of my strengths. My point I guess
is that questions about a problem that doesn't make sense are the only ones I ask here, because I can usually figure out a problem on my own.
So please assume that the problem is as I have described, and I am all ears about a solution. Thanks to everyone for the responses!
