I have a '68 3000 w/ E2NN block with spin on filter and a steel pan with no major dents . I added 7 quarts and a new filter but my dipstick shows 2 or more quarts overfull .
I searched the archives and think either the dipstick is wrong but most likely the tube is too short .
In one pic I made a black mark about where the dipstick would show full and another where 7 quarts fills to . Judging from the top mark on the oil pan 7 quarts looks right . I think the higher mark will still be below the spinning crank . I did not find any pics to compare to and have no experience with these 3 cylinders .
Thanks for the help - Ken.
2" is the "Full" mark but about 3-1/2" is my 7 quart mark .
