Has anyone used the paint that N Complete sells?
(quoted from post at 20:16:46 06/11/17) "How about the paint from yesterday's tractors Has anyone used it is it tisco paint?"
It is Tisco paint. Made by Van Sickle.
Going on 4 years with the medium gray. Still looks good.
My tractors are garaged, so I can't speak towards the elements.
What used to be sold at TSC was Valspar. Still used in the John
Deere factories. What TSC sells now is Majic brand. It's fair.
The red in this picture is Majic, the gray is Tisco from YT.

Thank you for that information;
Yes I have verified the serial number for the tractor but I guess I don't understand your question fully:
"Have you verified the serial number for the year with the castings? "
would you mind elaborating a bit more please, and:
How can I verify ?
Mine still has the 6v system and has not been changed;
I was told by the previous owner that he has never changed any parts since he bought it from someone he knew who bought it new and verified that the original owner never changed or had to replace any parts, either electrical or otherwise, so naturally I took his word for it as I have no reason to doubt him.
Is there something in my pic's that you noticed that is not original ? could you point them out for me so I can do my due diligence and find what I can do to make all the numbers match and bring it to as close to original as possible while restoring it ?
As you can probably tell I am very new at this old tractor stuff but, whenever I get close to that ol' tractor it just makes my heart beat fast - lol - I am looking forward to this project with much enthusiasm and any assistance from you guys with much more knowledge on the subject matter will be greatly appreciated - experience teaches a hard lesson and I would much rather avoid those hard lessons based on my own experience - lo
(quoted from post at 15:43:33 06/14/17) The tractor I pictured is a 1953 Golden Jubilee.
They do look similar, but your 860 is bigger and would not
have the large axle nuts in the center of the rear axle hub.
Check out John Smith's excellent ID section [b:7a893cabc8]here[/b:7a893cabc8] for ID.
I didn't see anything "wrong" with your tractor, I noticed little
things that look like they have been changed. The seat for example.
The generator looks like a newer style, the paint on the hood, etc.
I was also thinking that a '55 would have flat floorboards, but
I'm not positive on that one. Someone else may know for sure.
