Ford 6600 hydraulic leak

I recently changed my round baler tie wrap from electric tie to a hydraulic tie. The problem I was having is the tie travels way to fast, so I added flow restrictors in the hydro lines. Last night after a second time out making round bales (35 of them) I noticed hydro oil leaking from under the tractor. It is coming out from behind the hydraulic pump cover? My question is would the flow restrictors make this happen (blew the seal out)?
Thank you,
Bill

Sounds like seal (reference #22D in the link below) is leaking. Theoretically, what you're doing should not cause the seal to blow or even leak, as the system is protected by a relief valve. That said, running the system at or near max relief pressures for extended periods of time will cause the oil to get very hot, which could eventually cause a deteriorated seal to leak.

Suggest using the flow control valve on the tractor to limit your oil flow. Using flow restrictors is appropriate for a JD tractor with a closed-center system, but not an open-center Ford.
