Italian made NH tractors

I see a lot of late model NH tractors on the used market. I would like for some of you to give an opinion on their quality. I know nothing about FPT engines & very little about Iveco. The price seems low, but I've learned that the cheapest is not always the least expensive. Thanks for any experience on the value of these tractors.

All I can say is they will never be a FORD,I don't care how much blue paint on them. The
biggest farmer in my area has used New Holland for several years. This year his Blue
has started to turn to Green. He said that the New Hollands just had to many issues.

Don't bet on that either. We have had 2 within 5 miles of me that threw a rod through the side of the block. One, a TL 90 had 1800 Hours and had been well maintained.I was close to a year getting enough parts to patch it back together. The other one is a much newer tractor that belongs to the farmer I spoke of in the other post. He hasn't done anything with it yet. The warrenty hasn't been out on it too long.

I'll stand by my statement. I've been at this dealership since 1997 and can count on one hand the Iveco and FPT engines the shop has been into.

Most of the Basildon blocks are 35 + years old too.A sleeve job will make them run another 35 years. You can see what the Fiats look like in 35 years,I won't live that long.

35 years old and been going porous for 30. You've seen 2 engine problems. Sometimes you just have to suck it up and realize that everything new isn't all bad. These Fiats have their faults, but few of them are ahead of the flywheel.

All I know is what my customers tell me.There are hundreds of old Fords in my area. We had a great Ford dealer for many years, he filled the country full of them. Very, very few are being replaced by New Holland, Kubota and John Deere are taking over as the old Fords are replaced. We are doing more and more total restorations on the Fords because very few like the newer tractors. 2 engine failures out of a couple of dozen tractors to me is pretty high compared to a few bad blocks out of hundreds and hundreds of Fords. With that I will shut up and end the conversation, as neither one of us is going to change our minds about anything.
