Both of these oils are very good, I've used the Delo 400 more often than the Shell but no complaints...

15w-40. Wallmart has been nicely caring for my 63 2000 and 65 3000 for about 20 years. I use Rot T 5w-40 (syn) in my 07 and 16 tractors.
 
Hearsay has it that Moly is so slick that ball bearings may not roll (inadequate friction between the balls and the races) if used with them. Have no way of knowing. For shafts rolling in bushings, or any other type sliding surface, gotta be a great idea.....I guess.....old Wives Tales.....thousands of them, few proven.
 

My 801 diesel is original 3300 hour engine with the 40 psi relief valve oil pump.
I have Delo 15-40 in it now but idle pressure is a little lower than I like going by the original gauge, going to change it to SAE30 to see if that helps, if not I'll drop the pan and replace the oil pump.
I ran Rotella 15-40 for years in all of my trucks and tractors, about 10 years ago I switched to Delo 400 15-40.
Both are good oils, Delo is a little cheaper here.

Big mistake. SAE 30 will only give you a viscosity of 30 at operating temperature, but 15W40 or 20W50 will give you viscosities of 40 or 50. If I were you I would go 20W50.

With a multigrade, the W belongs with the first number, the number after the W is the engine oil operating temperature viscosity.
