Help with alternator install on a 4000

I am installing alternator kit AKT0005 on my 4000 diesel and
have run into an issue with the mounting bracket. With
everything installed the pulley does not line up with the belt.
Is there something I am missing with the installation of the
bracket? The only instructions I got with the alternator was for
wiring. Thanks in advance for any help.
 
Did you by chance get the kit for the wrong 4000?? There is the 4 cylinder 4000 and the 3 cylinder 4000 and the kits maybe different

he alt conversion kits are different for pre-1965 and 1965 & up.
 
Macsdaddy,
Always, always mention whether you have a 4 cylinder 4000 or a 3 cylinder 4000.
They are completely different tractors.
Without knowing this we can't help you nearly as well.

Apologies, for some reason I was not seeing some of the replies it is a 3 cyl. I am just fabbing a new bracket.
