600 transfering hyd oil to transmission

My 600 is transferring hydraulic oil to the transmission, will fill the trans until it comes out the gearshift (4 spd). What causes this?

There are two hard lines going through the bottom of the transmission from the hydraulic sump up to the manifold that goes to the hydraulic pump. The high pressure line (the thinner one) has most likely developed holes in it from rust and the pump is pumping the fluid into the transmission through those holes in the line. The lines rust form water in the transmission case, as water sinks to the bottom when it gets in there, and if the pressure line is rusted to the point of having holes, then the suction line is probably not much better.

I have a '63 2000 that does that too. I posted on here and Soundguy set me straight (nod of thanks and recognition here for his efforts). As a result of that I realized that my tranny, a 4 sp. would work just fine with 134A. So, when I did a drain and refill of the hyd sump and tranny, both got 134A. Works fine, easier shifting in the winter, slight increase in gear noises. Still have 90 in the differential sump and no shaft leaks.

Yeah, that works to avoid cross contamination, but if the leak on the pressure tube is bad enough that it is pushing fluid out the top of the transmission I don't think changing the fluid type in the transmission is going to help. Even if you live with the fluid leaking out the top, at a certain point the hydraulic sump will be too low to allow the 3 point lift to work.

Hear you on that. Mine's not that bad. I guess I drain the tranny down to the "full" plug and refill the hyd. sump about once a year. None
out the top in that time. I'm assuming that the problem occurs when the tractor is sitting idle for years, accumulating condensation, oil
floats and tube rusts out from water in the bottom of the sump. Since I keep that tractor active, shouldn't get any worse. My '63 only has
abut 3750 on the working OEM proofmeter today saying it sat for a long time before I got it and when I looked in the tranny fill port when
purchased what was in there was brown and viscous. It did come from the Abilene (West) Texas area which accounts for the grit.
