Valve spring collets

I have been tinkering with a model 1520 tractor built August 4, 1992.
This Tractor is one of the long term problems in my work's repair shed, or so I am told. Been having overheating problems off and on for a
while. I did see it run well during the first few months of 2016. I was off work a while but when i got back it was in pieces and the tale was it
over heated and filled the sump with coolant. It was stripped down and the parts were dumped into a couple of large plastic drums.
A very helpful person here ID'd the tractor for me as I originally called it a 1910. My problem has turned out to be parts. I cannot find anywhere
in Australia that has a head gasket for it.
I'm willing to try the copper wire inlay method to reseal the old headgasket, but I am missing a pair of valve spring collets, any suggestions on a
source or an alternative.

Take your parts to an auto parts store that has a big selection and match them up. Valve stems tend to be regular sizes and not some odd ball dimension, the collets should measure to the same OD as the OEM ones when you install on the valve at the store, and you're in business.

Hopefully there IS a local parts store.....

Well the auto parts places were not able to help.
However I did try an engine rebuilder, and he said look in that drawer.
It would have been 2 feet square and 3 inches deep full of all manner of collets.
So after about 20 minutes digging and comparing I have a replacement.
Thank you all very much.
I will post more once I get back to work and begin putting it together.

Yes, those keepers and head gaskets are still available here in the US, but I don't know if any US dealers would ship to Australia though. I guess it wouldn't hurt to contact them and ask, but shipping charges will probably be pretty high if someone is willing to do it.

I have contacted 2 in the past and each has no international supply.
Its not all doom and gloom however, i did get a collet to match from an engine rebuilder, so I will read up on repairing a head gasket with copper
wire and give it a shot. Nothing ventured and all that.
