This a 4 cyl Ford 2000 ( like a 641 ), my problem is that the 3 pt lift arms do not go up all the way. They go up about 2/3 of the way. I looked in the achieves for two nights already and can't find any information. I tried playing with the draft-control, doesn't do anything more. I need some information!

Most of the time its a worn out pin that rubs against the cam on the lift ram arm, #63. Its on the hand control lever assembly #51. You can find these part numbers on the New Holland partstore website. I assume its a 4 cylinder 4000. Theres also something you can do by putting a washer on the spring yoke plate but I cant remember where I saw it. It helps to click on modern veiw or classic veiw sometimes. Can also be adjustble without removing the cover . If you have to remove the cover the easist way i found is to leave one seat bolt in and you can put a long boxend wrench under the bolt. Leave the yoke pin in, then you can stand on the footboards facing the rear and with a little back then up motion you can flip the whole assembly upside down and its easy to work on right from the back. Its doable by yourself but an extra hand always helps, its heavy.

There are several members on here that have more info. Sometimes the post containing what you are looking for will just have a heading that refers to a certain model. I found it easier to just look in the classic veiw backwards at page after page.

[b:85bfee9d45]Here's[/b:85bfee9d45] my post that D. Prater is referring to.
In my case with this 851, all I had to do is clean and adjust it.

One thing I would do first is to take the filler cap off and look
inside with a load lifted. You can see the front of the cylinder.
If it is leaking fluid you will want to replace the piston O-ring
and backing washer. They're readily available. Mine wasn't leaking.
While you have the filler cap off, you can also move the linkage
with a big screwdriver or a pry bar. Does that make he arms lift?

I took the top cover off by hand, like I've done on several N
series tractors. I won't ever do that again on hundred plus series.

I put it back on with a cherry picker. Much better route to go.
I'm still a young man. (early 50's) Work smarter, not harder! ;)

You could take the top cover off and try to adjust it or you could take the draft spring off and remove the triangle plate and add a 5/8" washer with a drilled knoch to go around the pin. I did this on a 640 and arms went from 16" high to full height. If this does not work you will have to remove the top cover and inspect.

I did what D. Prater did with the washer. Goes up all the way, buuuut now the control lever works on the bottom half of the quadrant. Yes Royse, I can make it move with a bar in the filler hole. I really would like to make it on the top half. I suppose that I'll have to pull the top cover, but what should I look for? Will a worn cam-follower pin cause this? Thanks Guys
