Ford 3000 identification

Been searching the internet and I am finding conflicting information on the numbers for my tractor.

Tractor is labeled as Ford 3000 numbers are:
B1123C
5A09B
*C439868*

Any ideas? I know it's a 3 cylinder, double clutch, 8 speed.[/img]
 
B1123C breaks down to-

B11=(211) 2000 LCG 1965-1975
11=Low Center of Gravity (lcg)
2 = Gasoline
3 = Live 540 rpm
C = 8x2 speed manual (4x1 + hi/low)

so these numbers are for a Gas burner 2000 low center of gravity tractor, did these numbers come off the
inside sticker on the hood or from the flat boss behind the starter? and do both places match?

So the decal under the hood was painted over and had some damage. I haven't been able to make out much. The numbers I provided are from the flat area behind the starter.
 

I haven't tracked down anything on the 1975 tractor. Thisbtractor appears to have been originally yellow and repainted ford blue.
 
If the whole thing was originally painted yellow then it is likely that it is a 2110, which is the Low Center of Gravity (LCG) chassis Utility model in the 2000 series. If just the transmission was originally yellow and the rest of the tractor was originally blue, then it is possible that it is a 3000 that has had the transmission replaced at some point and the donor transmission came from a 2110, as those stamped numbers are on the transmission. Does it have a gasoline engine? If not then it is likely that the transmission was swapped.

Te see what engine it has, check the right side of the engine, just above the oil pan there is a flat rail and near the front of that rail should be the serial number for the engine itself, which should consist of a letter followed by a 6 digit number. If that engine serial number starts with a B then it is a 2000 series engine and if it starts with a C then it is a 3000 series engine.
 
I'm curious about that serial # on the
engine. Since the 2000 and 3000 gassers used
the same 4.2 B x 3.8 S = 158 ci with only
the carb and governor settings being
different. Would Ford have stamped that #
after the engine was complete?

Well that number appears as *B685407* everything was yellow anyone time.

I'm not sure when they stamped the serial numbers on the engines, but the Ford Service Manual shows them as having different letters. It's in the section at the beginning of the Service Manual where it discusses how to identify the tractors based on the model number stampings.
 
If built in 1975 I would assume it was a 231LCG. I put myself through college bending wrenches for the local Country Club we had a 2000LCG (SOS Diesel) with a loader (bad idea), a 2110, a 231 and a 3000 with 7 hydraulic driven reels hanging off of it and a newer diesel industrial tractor with the same 7 hydraulic reel mowers hanging on it but I don't remember the model number.

Except that the stamped model number is B1123C, which says that it's a 2110, not a 231. And the Serial Number and Unit Number, which are what says it is a 1975 tractor, are stamped in the same spot. They did continue making some of the thousand series model tractors into 1975 even though they had started making x600 series models at that point as well. Especially models that were for fleet orders as those had been ordered long before the new models had come out, and a 2110 in yellow was likely to be part of a fleet order for highway mowers or something similar.

Some pictures would help tell for sure... or a few more questions...

1. Is there only one main touch control handle on the quadrant for the 3 point lift with a smaller draft controller handle down near the base of the quadrant, or are there 2 large handles on the quadrant?

2. Does it have a one piece grill or is it a 2 piece grill with the F-O-R-D letters on the upper smaller section?
 
Wasn't sure when the switch over was, I didn't think the club's 231 was that new, maybe it was. Don't know about fleet orders as a lot of the LCGs also went to golf courses and were purchased through a local
dealer, but then I would assume not many dealers would be keeping LCG units in stock so most were probably ordered. Country Clubs weren't normal businesses a lot of them bought everything new and traded often
to avoid major repairs. Some of that changed as there was money budgeted to replace the 2110 but instead we just bought new rims and tires for it to upgrade it from the skinny duals to the high flotation like
came on the 231. The Fords seemed to be the more popular with the golf courses the Fergusons, IH or Deere. I have seen orange Massey Fergusons that were sold as Jacobsens so maybe some of the Greenskeepers who
didn't like Jacobsens stayed away from Fergusons too? I often wondered why the club didn't have John Deere tractors as at that time Deere had a big warehouse in town and the John Deere dealer had a store right
in front of the warehouse. Our 2110 was blue with light yellow sheet metal, as was the 2000. The 231 and the Diesel hydra-gang were all yellow, the gas hydra-gang was Ford Agricultural blue.
 
2110 would have a generator and appropriate tach with zero on the right, and a two piece grille. A 231 would have an alternator and tach zero
on the left and a one piece grille.

Interesting, it has a 2 price grill, ford on top plastic section. Bottom appears to be a metal price. Maybe home made I don't know for sure. It has one handle on the quadrant and one lever looking deal. It also has a transmission hand break. Not sure what that's for. I have it torn down currently, as I broke the clutch input shaft using a tiller. And the PTO wasn't working right. And once I got it apart, I found the center of the PTO clutch disc torn out. I'll try and add a pic or 2.
