1. Anybody got a part# for the ps filter element on a 64 4000 4 cyl. from a Napa, O'Reilly's or similar parts store? I have the oem # but keep coming up with the wrong filter, Mine has a 3.5 in dia. and everybody comes up with a 3in dia. filter including this site.

2. I'm also doing a restoration on a 861. I ASSume the red on the center hood and egg crate grill is the same as the tractor (red/orange).

Sorry! Can't help you with filter, unless maybe try one for a Ford car of late 50's - 60's vintage.

Hood color should match chassis. Kind of a red orange.
 
The proper Ford/New Holland part number for a p/s filter for a 4 cylinder 4000 ag tractor is AE33538A, and that crosses on the wixfilters.com site to their part number 51653, which is listed as having an outside diameter of 3.093".

Is it possible that you have the power steering pump & reservoir from a 4000 Industrial model? If so, the Ford/New Holland part number would be F2NN3K758AA, which the Wix site shows to be a valid part number but they do not currently have a filter that cross references to, and it appears to be no longer available from New Holland either.

Or do you possibly have an aftermarket power steering system on your tractor? If that is the case then you would have to take your old filter to NAPA or O'Reilly's to see if they can match it.
