801 electrical system

My 801 has 6 volt solenoid. The starter switch by the gear shift only works with one
connection on 6 volt solenoid. Tried solenoid with two connections and it does not
work. Will the NAPPA IC14SB coil WORK WITH 6 VOLT SOSOLENOID. Thanks for
previous reply.

????? The coil and solenoid have nothing to do with each other on those tractors.
Coil is powered by the key switch
Solenoid is activated by the starter button
Solenoid does get power from the key switch,but that doesn't effect the coil unless the battery is weak.

Is your solenoid a 3 post or 4 post. If it works with only battery and the thumb switch hooked up, it's not the correct solenoid.

As stated.. coil has noting to do with the solenoid.. however, IC14SB coil is for 12v systems.
