Was curious about that today and
couldn't find an answer but it doesn't
appear any X600 tractors had
selectospeed best I could tell

The 1965 through 1974(1975) thousand series (2000/3000/4000/5000) were the last models that had the S-O-S transmissions as an available transmission option. The x600 series came out in 1975 but they still made some of the thousand series models into that year, so there was some overlap but as far as I know none of the x600 models were ever made with an S-O-S transmission.

December of 1974. S-O-S production ended that month in conjunction with the closure of Highland Park. Since that's where the S-O-S was assembled, and the tractor line was moved to Romeo at the time, they elected to discontinue it anyway and not move the line. The x600 series wasn't introduced until the fall of 1975 as a 1976 model.

Rod,

Thanks for that information., Do you know if any of the already assembled S-O-S transmission made their way from Highland Park to Romeo and eventually into tractors that came off of that assembly line? I'm pretty sure that I have seen numbers off of S-O-S tractors that show that they were made in 1975, but it could be my memory that's faulty.

I have no idea on that... but it wouldn't be surprising if they had. I mean.. Ford was notorious for using up components until such time as
they were gone...
