NAA 3point not going to full height

Just got this NAA and in going over things I notice the previous owner had the position/draft lever wired to hold it midway between draft and position. Why?? I don't know. Anyway I removed the wire and put the lever into vertical for position. Then used it to lift and move my travel trailer with tongue weight of 600 to 700 pounds. It worked great, but I only had to lift a few inches. Later I put the boom on it to lift some other things,, less than 200 pounds and I find that with the control lever all they way up to the top of the quadrant, the lift arms only go up about half way. If I put it in draft position it does go to full height,, and then of course goes back down. I just did that as a test to see what would happen. I'm looking for some ideas as what to look for when I remove the cover. The manual doesn't really have a diagnoses for this type of issue. I'm hearing a lot about some sort of pin and/or a ramp or cam in there that could be worn. Thanks

Check the adjustment on the big spring. If it's screwed in to far it goes up and trips something that makes the lift go back down. Use a bar or pipe where the top link attaches to the spring and turn it counter clock wise a few rounds and see if it helps. That is part of the lift height adjustment.

es, it is the position control cam follower pin. See good pin here, many are worn almost completely through their 0.0309 inch diameter after 50+ years. Press old out & new in.
