Just a follow up, back in February you mentioned that a friend of yours might be parting out the SOS tranny on a 4 cylinder 4000 and you were trying to deal on a motor in Lincoln NE. Did any of that work out? You mentioned something about working out something on hauling the parts in the late spring or early summer. I'm in no hurry at all just wanted to touch base. Thanks, Greg NE

Interesting that you should bring this up now.
Just yesterday my friend delivered the tractor he sold. The deal was on for a month or so then the buyer backed out. Then he wanted it again, this time with a loader on it. So my friend bought one from me and put it on the tractor.
Then he decieded at the last minute he didn't want to trade off that tractor with bad SOS and kept it and paid full price for the tractor/loader.
I watched it all from the sidelines.
It was a very nice, low houred 3600 with an equally nice 772 loader. Buyer paid a very nice price too so i guess it was worth all the shennaigans.

So my pal won't have an SOS to sell.
My engine is still in Lincoln where I'm sure another friend is probably charging me frightful storage fees (wink) and I would like to get it home one of these days even though I don't need it now. Anyway, that's the story and I'm sticking to it. I do wish I could have helped you get that SOS but it was all out of my hands.

Not a problem! I know how those things go. I really don't need the tranny but as you know they don't make em anymore and I do have a soft spot for SOS's. Still haven't drove or did much with my "barn find" but I have had it running and all the gears seem to work now that I got the one valve unstuck in the control valve. Thanks anyway!! Greg NE

I'm probably going to sell a couple few SOS tranny's within the next few months or so.
Distance might be a problem since I'm a little farther than UD and these suckers are pretty heavy but my email is open if interested.
Always willing to horse trade.

Kirk

Greg.

I have a deluxe sos from a 4000. It shifted through all of the gears. Price is right but I have not removed it from the tractor. It is in page ne. I also will be listing a 3000 sos that cosmetically is rough but shifts good. 1500.

Ps. The storage fees are really building up. Heh. Heh.
