I have a pump problem that seems to be getting worse. I have to tap the side of the pump or sometimes operate the cut-off a few times to get the fuel to flow through the pump. The cut-off looks to operate on the pump, but something's not going on inside. Not sure what to look for if I take the pump apart. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Mine got stuck in the off position.
I removed the bleeder screw on top cover, squirted
PB blaster in there. Worked the shutoff, it came loose.
That was 4 years ago, hasn't gotten stuck since.
Time, rust and corrosion, algae slime, dirt...
It is a horrible fate for such a precision device.

Is there magic stuff in a bottle to stop or reverse this process?
I don't know if the average "injector" cleaner product also cleans up the pump
innards.

I opened the injector pump and found the problem; a broken linkage between the cut-off lever and the input; it's got a off-set in the middle with a hook on the end to catch the lever. Can't see how it got broken; looks pretty substantial for its purpose. Any suggestions on where I can find this part?

replaced the broken lever. still seems sticky, maybe it'll be okay with movement and vibration once installed. thanks

there wasn't a gasket between the pump and the block, but there is an o-ring with some, what looks like caulking, thrown in for good measure. I made a gasket but not sure it is needed with the o-ring. if so, would the gasket go outside the o-ring or cover it? just don't like putting metal together w/o a gasket, but none is shown on the diagram.

thanks again.

I put a gasket outside the o-ring groove and it all looks good.
Next problem> extra part

I found this as I was putting things back together. Can't find it in the injector part pic. Any ideas?

So, I figured out the missing part as I put the governor back together. It connects the throttle spring to the plate. Next prob. When I got it all back together, it leaked fuel from under the cover. Should the cover be full of fuel? I made a new gasket and tightened it down as much as I dare, but it still leaks badly.

I'm ready to buy a new pump, but I notice there are two similar pumps offered on YT. How can I tell which one is correct?
