Ford 800 gas bucks under load at 3/4 throttle or more. Also hunts without load at 3/4 throttle or more. It sounds like the governor needs some work. Does that make sense? All other times it runs correct. Because of other issues we tuned it up with plugs, points and condenser. Also rebuild the carb. Many issues in the fuel system but finally have those taken care of. Timing is correct. Below 3/4 throttle it pulls very well.

Does choking it hurt or help??? If it helps you either did not get the carb as clean as it needs to be or you have the main jet set to lean. If it hurts then you may have the main jet set to rich or you need to service the air cleaner and dump out the mud and water that is in it. It can also be caused by the gov to carb linkage binding up.

So when you rebuilt the carb did you soak it over night in a good carb cleaner and then did you blow out all passageways with air and spray carb cleaner and most importantly did you poke out all the passageways wit ha small piece of wire or as I use a torch tip cleaner tool??

I know the advance works but didn't really check it at high RPM. The carb is clean and gas flow is over 16 oz in 3 minutes.
Have not tried it with adding choke. We are back in the field starting this afternoon so don't know when I will get back to it.
