Got the old Ford 600 split and clutch material still on the disk. The previous owner was thinking it needed the clutch replaced. Lots of rust on the flywheel and pressure plate face. What is the normal next step...do you take the whole set-up to a clutch shop and they rebuild? Previous owner said it was slipping after driving away. I thought it would be more clear of a failure.
What else to replace while tractor is apart? I want to do it right while it's apart....throw out bearing, shaft seals.....looking for some advice on how to get it back together the best way. I know it will cost some bucks but want it done for another 20 years...
How do you best hold the engine from rotating when working on the clutch/flywheel too?
