Ford 3600 Hydraulic Quadrant Problem

Hi all,

I have an issue with the hydraulic controls on my 3600. With the controls removed the concentric shaft is visible. The outer shaft (draft) is moving freely of the inner shaft and working properly. The inner shaft (position) doesn't seem to want to move. If I put a spanner on it it will raise and lower the lift arms but there is at best about 10 degrees of movement on it. It springs back to the lower position which looking at the manual would appear to be right - the friction disc holding it in place normally i'm guessing.

Has anyone any ideas before I commit to removing the lift cover? - given that I have a cab this is more complicated that normal

Also, if I end up removing the lift cover what would it be worth replacing at the same time?

Cheers,

Graeme

Dumb question, plus I have a 2000, not sure if it is the same on the 3600. But is it in draft control and still does what you say?
Or does it do it in position control too?

Mike - The x600 series s different from your 2000. They have 2 large handles on the quadrant, one is the position control handle and the other is the draft control handle, and you can actually mix the 2 modes by using both handles.

Graeme - Does the position of the draft control handle affect the movement of the position control handle? I'm not that familiar with the inside of the top cover on the x600 series, but hopefully someone will come along shortly who does and can help you out.
