Had to replace the fuel pump on my 2000 3 cyl, was putting gas in the oil crankcase. Was a difficult job with the radiator in the way but got it done. Tried REALLY hard to keep everything clean but there was a lot of gunk on the front around the pump. Ran great afterwards. Pump came from Ford dealer.
Fast forward a month. Tractor will not start. I run 100% gas, no ethanol. Verified I have spark. Pulled the sight bowl and verified that the pump is still pumping. Screen in bowl had some gunk on it that I cleaned off. Not a lot but more than I expected. Verified that there was gas in the bowl of the carb by draining it.
Wondering if some dirt got by the filter and is blocking a jet in the carb. Hate to tear into the carb blind. The tractor has always run perfect for me since I bought it in 2008 so don't really want to poke a sleeping tiger.
