Ford 8600 PTO will not engage warm

Mid 1970's 8600 started having PTO problems, PTO would engage and run cold but when kicked off warm would not re-engage. Since starting over last two years in attempts to fix we have rebuilt the front pack and rear pack and put in a new hydraulic pump. We have had various iterations, including the rear differential not releasing or the PTO not working at all. Now it has been broken both at the front and rear 4 times each and we are still having fits. All hydraulic functions work fine, lift and remotes are strong, rear diff lock works, PTO engages when fluid is cold and it will run hammer mill or bushhog or whatever as long as you leave engaged without slipping. If you disengage it warm the PTO is done until it completely cools, everything else works fine. Pretty much everything has been replaced other than the shift forks for the PTO and it has minor wear. Has anyone seen this problem, we are starting to pull our hair out here.[/b]

Until you have pressure tested the pto and or dual
power, it will be near impossible to diagnose.
