Just acquired a Ford 600 w 3spd forward, and Reverse. There is a sloppy stamped number behind starter facing up that reads: 640
902
One set of numbers above another. What year is this? Thanks!!

if it truly is # 902 on a 640, then you have a early 54 model.

PS.. you have a 4spd forward, and 1 rev tranny.. not a 3+1

You mean early '55, right? Since '54's were NAA's. (or a late '54, as they started 600 production at the end of '54)

That's my phone helping me out.

He has a 54 model for sure, by sn, if that is the sn he posted.

What I tried to type on the &^%$ phone was that he had an early model ( as in a very early 640 ) and it was a 54.. the phone just figured i wanted to say early 54 model.

GRRRRRR....

Probably should have just said he had a late 54, but that it was an early 640.. but I guess the phone would have fudged that up too. ;)

That is the problem with a smart phone you have to be smarter the they are and word things so they do not put wording in for you. I do not have a smart phone and sure don't want one. Shoot this computer was made in 2004 and is older then the one I had crash

I very much dislike how these phones change words. And you can accidentally delete words, etc, just touching the screen. Move blocks of words around, etc.

Real pita ;)

yup...even when you KNOW you typed it in and spelled it right... seems to happen a lot when you get into words and phrases that the phones aren't programmed to "understand" - guess our vocabulary just doesn't match most peoples'.

My phone picks on some words.

There are about 15 common words I can type in perfectly correct, and the phone will change them. Also, if I accidentally hit space in the middle of a word, since space is under x-m, it can change the word to something else entirely.. Double space immediately adds a period and caps the next word, sometimes useful. Touching screen to resize text box sometimes highlights or drags and drops words.. Ugh... Takes me three times as long to thumb in a reply like this, usually only to have it look like my cat did it or a 4th grader :)

Not on a windows phone, its part of Cortana, the operating system based built in assistant. It handles spelling and grammar, searches, Callander, alarms, appointment and reminders. Cortana also is built into the only standard supported text/messaging app.

Messenger another texting app just dropped support for windows phone OS as of April 1st.

Here is the sum total you can do :

You can remove any ADDED words from the phone dictionary. These are words you have told the phone to spell a certain way.. Proper names, acronyms, etc.

You can add a comma to some menus

You can have the keyboard revert to alpha after selecting an emoticon

And you can share your typing habits with Microsoft to develop even worse predictive text patterns.

The only other thing you can do, not listed, is to change keyboard language sets. For instance I can switch to a spanish kb when I'm typing in Spanish ( which I only do with a couple friends ).

Shoot it you handed me a smart phone I would not even know how to use it. My cell phone isa simple pay as I go phone which costs me maybe $20 every 3 months and the minutes roll over so I have more minutes then I will use

Well one thing I can say is I have a slower paced life now that the doctor forced me to retire and I do what I feel like as I feel like it can if I start to hurt to much I just stop and wait till I feel better. I stay up late at night and get up later in the morning now days. Back when Was younger i got up very early and went to bed very early
