Ford 4000 vs 4500 brakes

#3 cylinder style 4000 and 4500 use different brake housings and actuators but same discs? Does anybody know why?
I sold an inner housing that was on a 4500 to a guy for his 4500 but he said the surface the linings run against were too narrow. Mine is about 7/8" wide and he said his were more like 1-1/2" wide. Any ideas?

Can't help you on the difference.
Where are you located?
I have a complete rear end from a 4400 SOS tractor I'd sell you for a case of my favorite pale ale. Trumpets are there, etc. In Aitkin, MN.
I'd like to see it gone.
If you take that one there's the rear end from a 3000 there too that you might as well take too.

Udogs post doesn't show so I took look at parts pages and says same parts in both. Probaly running change in parts, it was done pretty regulary and is still done. I have 2 4500TLBs that making 1. Going to check brakes on 1 that usuing R/A out of in day or 2.

I didn't look.... but I would also expect a running change in the disc. I seem to recall that there was, at some point... a change, and a service bulletin about that. If the housing have any appreciable wear you'd also need to change them or else the discs are not going to run right on a smaller wear pattern.
