spin on fuel filter.

I have a '74 diesel 2000. Does anyone know where I can get an adapter so I can use a spin on fuel
filter ? I tried NH and all they had were adapters to use spin on oil filters.
 
I have never seen an adapter for a spin on fuel filter. What you would probably need to do is replace the whole thing.
 
Ford never offered a spin-on fuel filter kit for that tractor as far as I am aware. You could buy any aftermarket spin-on filter housing/assembly and replace the original filter, but you would probably need to make your own new fuel lines as well, or if the replacement filter is close enough, you might be able to get by with a couple of tweaks to the bends on the original lines.
 
Wix filters makes one, the kit will work with Fords and Masseys from that era

here's the kit and the new filter used (filter has a water drain too)
Kit comes with all the bolts, o-rings etc to install on either make tractor. Installs on your old filter head, no need for different lines

I'd price the spin on filter first... lol
No way I'd want to change from a $5/filter to a $15 filter... just to get a spin on.

Cheap, NO, but on some things like my Ford backhoe it's a real pain to try to see around all the loader frame and hoses and try to keep the o-rings where they should be. I bought several of the kits and a box of filters when I was still working and could buy WIX at cost!

If it uses the fuel lines with the rubber olive go to ebay, and search for SFA11 FILTER ASSEMBLY WITH DELPHI 496A SCREW ON FILTER PORT SIZE 1/2"-20 UNF (its a new base, used it on my MF135 diesel).

If it doesn't have the olive, the place selling that one should have a selection of others.
