need advice on ignition problem

Hello,
Need some advice on my ignition problem. Long story but,
Tractor ran good until hot and then it would shut off. I could let it cool and it would fire right up and run good until it got hot again. I have put a carb kit in it and a new fuel line (needed it anyway). So I changed the coil, condenser, and point (thinking that a weak coil could be the problem). Took a second to get it fired but once it was running it ran great. Didn't seem to have any issue but when I shut it off it will not crank again. eventually got it to fire by jumping it off of truck (ran the battery dead). it ran perfect to the shed. shut it down and it will not fire at all. Any ideas on what would make it not fire up but run fine when it did crank? I have spark and fuel.

Thanks for any advice.
Sincerely

What exactly does that mean? Does the starter spin the engine? If so, does it seem to be spinning it fast enough (as fast as when you jumped it from your truck)? Have you checked for a good strong blue/white spark that will jump at least a 1/4" gap to ground?
