Ford 3000 spin on filter adapter kit

Ok , bought all new fluids for the new to me beast ! Got home and realized i have old style filter and purchased new spin on type.

Rather than take them back I see an adapter kit here. Would like some feedback before i buy one .

Anyone ? Thanks in advance. I love this monster , especially after putting in some PS fluid and spinning in circles :)

Next up is plowing some clay soil for planting corn . Help a rookie out here :) ..

All tools available . Brother in law is a retired diesel mechanic. Big wrenches and sockets not a problem.

Is the adapter kit worth it and how hard is it to put on / replace the old filter ?

Thanks. I've seen many kits on eBay , Amazon and other sites , but i think il buy from here as it seems to be one knowledgeable group and I , well not so knowledgeable :)

Getting the credit card out now !

Excellent post ! Thanks. I just hope it unscrews easily . Adding RTV is another idea I hadn't thought of.

Parts ordered by phone today so early next week I should be good to go !

Mickinohio- It takes some torque to loosen the nut. Be sure to grind
the 1 1/4 inch socket wall down as described or you will round off the
nut and create a bigger problem.

I put the spin on adapter on a 1966 3000 Ford, simple and easy to do, I run the motorcraft FL-1A oil filer on it

Thanks much for the help. Just received an older plow from a neighbor farmer. Been sitting for a few years in the weather so after I unload it tomorrow I can see what needs to be done to get it functioning again . This city boy has his work cut out !!

I bought one on ebay for about $35. The gasket wasn't visible in the posting but it came with the plate. Installed a Motorcraft FL-1A which
is what I usually use (Pf 8A otherwise) on all my fords and on my truck when I ran ford Trucks. Been a couple of months. Working fine, no
leaks.

Thanks . Bought the kit from YT by phone Thursday , shipped out today , hope to see it by Tuesday or so. Picked up a Fram and Ford filter. I like to be prepared :) Had the Woods finish mower on today. Guy had advertised as having a new belt and blades sharpened . Guess he forgot to say how long ago . Now im fiddling with getting the mower to cut level , then on to the plow adventure !!

Update ! Everything off and replaced . I'm loving it. The old filter goes in the parts bin should I ever did chide to sell it. Got it out and the belt on my Woods mower snapped.

Any thoughts on brand replacement ? It's an RM 306 , online sources state three different models were made. I just have to figure out which one I have :)

Thanks folks.
