4000 spindles

Anyone have a tip to get spindles off a 3 cylinder 4000? Wheels off, bolt out the arm, sprayed with oil and have used BFH...still solid. Any ideas appreciated.

The ring that goes on the top of the spindle has a split/slot. Get the biggest flat bladed screwdriver you have and use it to pry the split apart to make the hole bigger. If that doesn't work try heating it with a torch.

Yep spread slot in arm. There is a woodruff key in spindle that will not let spindle come out.
