961 Just a lot of little parts

I am working on neighbors 961, had not run in a while, just fixing up little things, parts are about $700.

Big items:

Proof meter and cable bad.
Fuel system gunked up
Gas tank sender and gauge bad
Belts were under width and hard
All wiring was torn off and missing
Block and radiator gunked up
Starter needed bushings and brushes
Valve cover leaking, gasket was like hardboard
Power steering hose had been leaking on distributor, cleaned and changed components

Note:

I found a complete gauge set with tank sender on this site, will install when it comes in

Good news:

Engine has good oil pressure and runs good.
Clutch seems good
Alternator charges good
Battery seems good

At least it's the little stuff.
That two stage clutch is not a cheap replacement!
As long as all the big stuff is good it will be worth while.
Send us some pictures when you get it done.

I'd say that you havn't looked at many then.

Brakes on hundred series are generally much better than 9n,2n, 8n, due to the hub design. IMHO.. a 2000/3000 3 cyl should have pretty much the same brake setup.

Probably a reflection of the stoic frugal farmers around here. They just wear out and don't get replaced! ;)
