Hydraulic valve ID

What exactly is the valve in the frt. of the hydraulic cover on a 2600 called besides being a ck valve? What is it's purpose? manual lists a special puller, anyone ever pulled this valve and what is required? It is the valve numbered 2.

I have pulled the ones in "100" series to inspect back pressure valve but "1000" series don't have back pressure valve in that location. It holds the pressure off the hyd pump when making up and down movements of the lift cyl. Unless seat is worn or damaged from ball there is no need to pull. The chance of oring blowing in that location is nill.
