Ford 8000 Help

Left and right lower link hangers are leaking. I thought I was going to be able to fix this easily but after acquiring the service manual I found out that I have to remove seat, fuel tank, controls and hydraulic lift cover and more. I've never done this before. Will I have to remove the wheels to get the left lower link hanger and torsion bar all the way out? I'm assuming I'll have to completely remove it to replace O-rings, etc to fix the leaks. It would be great to hear from someone who's done this on a 8000, 8600, 9000, or 9600.

Guys in the shop have been into a couple TW's recently for that. Several NLA hard parts there, hope O-rings are all you need.

Like bern said the right side is simple. The left side yes you are supposed to take the lift off and disconnect the draft linkage. And Rickb is correct some of that draft linkage is NLA. Last draft linkage I worked on ended up taking the parts to a machine shop to get fixed.
When the right side is apart you can slide the load shaft to the left some and stretch the oring over the hanger. I've done several like this.
The other thing to look at is how loose is the right hanger on the shaft a lot of these have been welded because the splines strip. If you still have the old style shaft and hanger and it's loose the only fix other than welding is replacing them with parts from the later series.

Thanks for the reply's. I wasn't sure anyone would respond. The tractor will primarily be used to infrequently run a 12" relift pump for flooding ponds. I don't really have to have the 3 point working great. I'll be using a 3 point drawbar to lift and drag the pump out of the water from time to time and that's about it. I have a smaller tractor I use for mowing. I plan to install a murphy switch since the tractor will be parked and running with no operator. I'm concerned that if I leave it over night with hydraulic leaks on steering motor assembly and left/right hangers, I run the risk of burning up a hydraulic pump or new steering pump I'm replacing. I will need to rework the steering motor assembly too. Talked to the NH dealer and as RickB and juniur stated, several parts are NLA!?? The 3 point was working good, just leaking. Hopefully no parts that are NLA will be broken or badly worn. Sorry for being long winded. Just want to get it all into one reply so I can hopefully quit bothering you guys. Thanks in advance for your reply's. I really appreciate it!

If I only fix leak on right, will left lower link hanger continue to leak all fluid if tractor is not running?

Do I need to remove the tire to get the left LLH out or can I slide it far enough to put the o-ring on from inside the back end?

Is slack in the left/right lower link hanger splines ok if I'm not using the 3-point much at all?

How do I know which parts off of a 8600, 9000, or 9600 are interchangeable?

What do I do when parts are NLA?
