I have a 1963 2000, had it lil while it seems there is lil to help from governor assembly, have to manually rev it to compensate for loads, how do I go about setting or adjusting it, let's say from scratch, also where can I look for wear, play, worse case can I get one used, rebuilt anyplace thanks

I have a 1953 NAA. I think they used the same engines up to the 64 years. I think. Mine kind of does the same thing. I seem to have to use more hand throttle when mowing, going up or down a hill, or pulling. I don't know how much hand throttle is normal.

I'm going to adjust the linkage first on mine to see if that makes a difference. They do have a good process to do that in the owners manual, and the IT service manual. You might want to get the manual for the 2000 and try it.

I did it by ear once but it's been awhile. I'd use finger and thumb on the rod to try and get a feel for the tension and tighten the nut
compressing the spring. Too tight and hunting (rump rump rump rump in rapid succession), too loose and loss of power...get to lugging before
it knew you were lugging.
