4000 Fuel Injector pump leak

Hello, I have a mid to early 70's 4000 3 cylinder. When I bought it, it had a small leak on top of the injector pump. Over the years it has increased. It mainly leaks when idling, once you put a load on it, it pretty much stops. I googled it and found some topics about O-Rings that could be replaced? Anyone ever dealt with this before? I hate to spend a grand rebuilding it, if it can be fixed with ease.

While it can be done on engine, my experience is other leaks may show up soon after. Why I won't do patch jobs anymore, just bites the backside later. Just finished an IH 706 pump repair that was 350.

I hope that was a 706 German. I can do most Roosa Master pumps for about $35.00 in parts and a little labor.

Governor ring included?
Not much point in opening a Roosa without swapping that out.

Throttle shaft or shutoff shaft leak on a CAV pump takes 4 o rings and a cover gasket to fix correctly.

My '68 3 cylinder 4000 had the same leak. Just a month ago I got a kit with O-rings and a gasket for the CAV pump (EBay). My tractor
has a loader which was in the way, but with it raised up I was able to pull off the top and replace the O-rings on the throttle and
stop shafts and get it all back together. Much better now with no leaks. There are a couple youtube videos one is very helpful. Just
keep it all clean.
