A friend of mine saw one for sale and might have me go look at it with her. I know tractors but I don't know this model. Anything specifically weak or strong about this model? Any reason to stay away from it?

I have one, solid as a rock.

One weakness is keeping clean oil in injector pump, make sure it runs smooth.

I have a 5610 & a 5610-2, excellent tractors! 6610 is basically the same tractor, except it has a 268 ci engine, instead of the 256 ci engine found in the 5610's, thus about 10 more HP.

I have one with a cab, good tractor, 268 is a strong engine, good hydraulics.
The bad, cab sets low on the chassis making some maintenance and repairs quite difficult. Not a issue on non cab models.
If your looking at a cab tractor you'd be much happier with a 6710 row crop model, cab sits about 4-6 inches higher giving easier access to the chassis.

Personally I'd like to have a 7710 series II.

With cab $9-14k, a little more if it has a loader
open station, $6500-10K
Low side for plane jane in decent condition
High side would have to be in top condition with good rubber and a loader.
Rear tires have a big effect on what I'll give, the 18.4-30 radials on my 6610 cost $1250 each plus mounting, if the rear tires are less than 50% or show much dry checking my offer drops big time.
Over 6000 hours on the meter drops the price also.
