Looking at an older Pettibone skidder with a Ford industrial diesel engine. Number on the engine tag is:
1796-T17KB
Type COPS 6005-A SO 2340
Trouble with the skidder is the transmission is very worn, sometimes hard to shift. Need to know the kind of transmission is on the rig. All I know is that 1st is down and right, second is up and right and reverse is down and center. It seems to stay in gear but the gear shifter sometimes seems to get "lost" to where one can not shift it. I am new this type of rig so any and all thoughts are welcome.
